Thank God It's Fulfilling Top Ten Article
|

T.G.I.F.!
What does it evoke in you? For most of us it is
Thank God It's Friday - implying the workweek is
finally over and we can now get to things that
really matter - spending time with family and
friends, having fun, spending time on our hobbies
and passions, rejuvenating, relaxing, winding-down,
and living life on our terms.
What if: You were living life on your terms through
your career every day? You were doing things that
you were passionate about every day? Your work
actually rejuvenated and reenergized you rather than
draining you?
What would happen if you were able to change your
personal beliefs of T.G.I.F. from Thank God It's
Friday to Thank God It's Fulfilling? Here are some
steps to help pave the way.
Take Ownership of Your Career
Often when people are unsatisfied with their
careers, they feel that events, including their
career, are outside of their control. You need to
take back control. In fact you had it all the time,
but you may have given it up or decided to go with
the flow. People like people who are in control, who
know what they want, and know how they are going to
get it. This doesn't mean that you need to roll over
others, but you do need to take back what is
rightfully yours. Who has more of a stake in your
career than you do? No one - not your boss, not the
company, you and you alone are responsible for
managing your career! No one cares more about your
future than you do and no one can manage it as well
for you as you can.

Whistle While You Work: Heeding Your Life's
Calling
|
| |
Join
Christy for June's monthly book review series,
Whistle While You Work: Heeding Your Life's Calling.
You may find this book helpful if you are asking
yourself questions like:
How can I make a living doing what I love?
What was I born to do?
What is my life's work?
What do I want to be when I grow up?
Whistle While You Work attempts to help readers discover their own
answers to such questions to reveal their own innate
sense of calling. The authors believe that calling
is natural. We all possess it. It needs only to be
uncovered, not discovered. Whistle While You Work
makes the uncovering process inspiring and fun. It
is a liberating and practical guide that will help
you find work that is truly satisfying, deeply
fulfilling, and consistent with your deepest values.
